Gubbio is the collection in which clean lines become works of art through the combination of two embroidery techniques: the Paris stitch and the satin stitch.
The Paris stitch is achieved after a drawn-thread process in which some weft threads are removed. The remaining warp threads are then tied into small bundles using a single-needle machine, creating a delicate, subtle finish.
The satin stitch, a classic of Italian embroidery tradition, is obtained by combining two techniques: running stitch for the inner structure and a series of closely executed straight stitches to compactly fill and define the decorative line.
