The à jour embroidery is nothing more than the French denomination of a stitch that is part of the Tuscan artisan tradition, where it has always been known as “giornino”. This process defines refined geometries and transparencies in the Renaissance line.

The manufacturing requires the unthreading of at least one weft or warp thread. The grouping of the threads that remain produces an elegant transparency. Excellence is always in the details, so only from the skillful craftsmanship of particular intersections can this be produced between the à jour processes that form perfect small squares, embellished with entirely hand-made micro-polka dots.
